Proton has been designed accordingly to regulations of the 2.4mR international sailing class, which is a very widespread class within worldwide sailing. Since 1999 there are regatta of the World Championship in this category. It is also a Para-Olympic class, because it′s suitable also for disabled. Experience shows that disabled yachtsman can successfully compete in regatta with all other sailors.

Proton is excellent for helmsman of all other classes as a training boat used to improve tactics and sailing technique. It′s so because of ability of various rigging adjustment and no need of body ballasting of the competitor.

Proton was adopted to sail in heavy weather conditions. Hull build of glass fiber reinforced plastic has got heavy-duty construction and special structure increasing endurance, durability and strength. The yacht is uncapsizable thanks to keel filled with lead and unsinkable because of the displacement chambers filled with foam plastic. Yacht is equipped with two limber pumps - one of them is electric and one manual.


During designing of the Proton special attention was paid to ergonomy. Helmsman seat is able to regulate forward and backward. All the ropes of rigging are accessible within reach of hand and able to lock in a convenient way. For controlling a rudder sailor can use pedals or hand tiller located in front of him.
